Virtual Events Code of Conduct

The 2021 Virtual DEN Conference (Deaf Entrepreneurship Network) is made up of a community with a common agenda, cause, and interests, who collaborate by sharing ideas, information, and resources. It is of paramount importance to the DEN planning committee that each and every person attending our virtual events has a positive and rewarding experience and to that end, DEN is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all event participants.

The DEN planning committee has established this Virtual Events Code of Conduct to provide guidelines to Participants and to ensure that all Participants understand what behavior is expected, and what behavior will not be tolerated.  All participants, including, but not limited to, attendees, speakers, DEN staff/committee members, exhibitors/sponsors, vendors/service providers, and all others are expected to abide by this Virtual Events Code of Conduct.

DEN has zero-tolerance for any form of discrimination or harassment, including but not limited to sexual harassment by participants or our staff/committee at our meetings.

If you experience harassment or see/hear of any incidents of unacceptable behavior, DEN asks that you inform the Conference Manager, 2021DEN@goden.org, so that we can take the appropriate action.

Unacceptable Behavior is defined as:

•    Disruption of presentations during sessions or any virtual meetups or events throughout the virtual experience. All participants must comply with the instructions of the moderator and any DEN virtual event staff.
•    Presentations, postings, and messages should not contain promotional materials, special offers, job offers, product announcements, or solicitation for services. DEN reserves the right to remove such messages and potentially ban sources of those solicitations.
•    Participants should not copy or take screenshots of Q&A or any chat room activity that takes place in the virtual space.

Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior
DEN reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including immediate removal from the virtual meeting without warning or refund, in response to any incident of unacceptable behavior, and DEN reserves the right to prohibit attendance at any future meeting, virtually or in person.
